CV
Creative, organised and highly efficient, I am a multi-disciplined photographer and videographer with experience producing engaging and exciting content for various sports, lifestyle and beverage brands. My background also includes working as a content creator for one of the UK’s leading camera retailers. My approach always puts the brand and their visual identity first while photographing in an on-trend, editorial style always ensuring targets and demanding schedules are met. I am in search of a role that allows me to expand and further flex my creativity within a like-minded progressive outdoor organisation.
Experience
Freelance Editorial & Product Photographer (2016-Present): Through over seven years of photographic experience, I have built an extensive portfolio of product and lifestyle photography work commissioned by various brands. My work is often editorial in style but is always true to the brand’s image and own visual identity. I also have experience in white background studio product photography and I am familiar with utilising ghost mannequin methods. Moreover, I have a deep understanding of image formats for both print and digital media. My attention to detail combined with my post-production skills ensures products are always true to colour where imperative. I am also capable of image retouching, from minor defect removal to larger corrections.
Custom Designer at EKM Systems (2021-Present): My current role within EKM involves creating bespoke customer websites specific to their business needs. From the research, ideation and wireframing, to the design, mock-up and coding stages, I work in an Agile Sprint and successfully oversee multiple projects at a time. Every month I am tasked with presenting our personal and team accomplishments either in person or via a live online video to the rest of the organisation. I have a deep understanding of design principles. Through type, colour, layout, and hierarchy, I am able to create designs with strong visual interest. Combined with my eye for detail, I ensure factual and grammatically correct copy. Often working to tight deadlines, my performance is measured via KPI’s.
Evolution Mode Designer (Marketing) at EKM Systems (2020-2021): My previous role at EKM involved ensuring customer’s online stores never got out-dated. From website maintenance and CSS styling to SEO optimisation and branding, being an Evo designer presented a new challenge everyday. In addition, situated within the marketing team, I was also tasked with creating graphic marketing materials for use across EKM’s social media and website. This experience in web and print media design has since enhanced my marketing eye and has enabled me to create photographic and video content with a strategic objective.
Content Creator at Wilkinson Cameras (2016-2020): Based at their head office, I was responsible for multiple aspects of the visual marketing and branding strategies. Functioning within the marketing team, my role at Wilkinson Cameras Head Office as in-house content creator involved producing original ideas for their YouTube channel and other social media, writing scripts and then filming and editing to create a final video that would often be viewed by a 30,000 strong audience. Moreover, I would often be in charge of rigging appropriate setups for social media live streams and product launches. On a regular basis, I was also tasked with photographing pre-owned products within their dedicated photography studio. This involved utilising a two light set-up for seamless white background packshots. I also regularly liaised with account managers from manufacturers such as Sony, Panasonic and Canon to ensure visual materials were consistent and on-brand.
Skills
Technical Camera & Lighting Knowledge: I am extremely capable using a camera and have all the necessary knowledge to creatively compose and correctly expose an image in any lighting situation quickly and efficiently. I am familiar with almost all camera brands such as Nikon, Canon, Sony, Panasonic and even larger cinema camera systems such as Arri and RED. Personal Profile
Outgoing, adventurous and an all round lover of the outdoors, I love nothing more than spending my time in nature. Whether that’s projecting a new climbing route or fell running in the hills. I also love to compete in both cycling and fell running; recently I placed 23rd in the Petzl Night Runner Race, an achievement I’m proud of. When I’m not chasing a thrill in the outdoors, I enjoy a relaxing hike with my camera photographing the landscape; I am a proud member of the Nature First Photography Alliance.
